Beech Grove — Planting Design

Holden Forests & Gardens, East Layer Garden · ~1,400 sq. ft.

I designed a naturalistic planting for the Beech Grove, a roughly 1,400 sq. ft. area within the East Layer Garden at Holden Forests & Gardens. Six fern species fill the shaded undergrowth beneath several failing beech trees, echoing the decomposition and natural forest succession already underway in the grove.
