Logsdon Pond East — Edge Planting Design
As part of her work in the 17-acre Helen S. Layer Rhododendron Garden, Mary designed the pond-edge planting scheme for Logsdon Pond East. The design combines native and non-native species, selected for habitat value along the waterline, seasonal interest across the growing season, and visual cohesion with the surrounding rhododendron collection.
The project set the template that was later extended to the pond's west edge in 2023, creating a unified planting plan across the full Logsdon Pond system.
